CALLER:
   Hi, we're calling from NARAL-PAC [the political action 
   fund for NARAL pro-choice] and we were wondering 
   if you might be able to..."

wrog:
   Are you folks withdrawing your support of Chaffee?  
   He's voting to confirm Roberts, you know.

CALLER:
   Well um, we have research to do (blah blah blah) ... 
   we'll be seeing what things look like in a few months.

wrog:
   Um.  Okay, I'll keep you in mind.

CALLER:
   So uh.... I guess we call you back in a few months, then.

wrog:
   Um.  Okay.

It bothers me to do this since these are the Good Guys, but argh, get a fucking clue,...

I have a similar reaction when I get calls from the Democrats. "We need your money to fight Bush!" "But... I gave you my money during the election, and you didn't really make any attempt to fight Bush then..."
