34 no votes. check it out.

Particularly noteworthy, this includes 8 Republican no votes:

   Lincoln Chafee (R-RI)
   Susan Collins (R-ME)
   Chuck Hagel (R-NE)
   Richard Lugar (R-IN)
   John McCain (R-AZ)
   Olympia Snowe (R-ME)
   Ben Campbell (R-CO)
   Lamar Alexander (R-TN)

Meaning there's a good chance this piece of shit won't even get a majority.

So if you live in these states, please call these folks and thank them.

(actually, the Democratic senators are worth calling as well; just because they're voting the right way doesn't mean they couldn't also use a little encouragement).

What exactly?

So far, this is by one (1) vote. It's going to stay hairy for a while yet.

Not to mention

...that the bigger point is to have a nice big gaybashing campaign to crank up the fundy asswipe vote and elect more evil bastards.

Notice how Cantwell's not on the list? Hopefully, she just hadn't been contacted yet.

And props to Holy Joe Lieberman for getting this right.

Oh good. I scanned it quickly and didn't see her.

I feel better now.

Cantwell's been slippery about her positions in the past, so it wouldn't have surprised me.
