so I bet you never thought boys could get yeast infections.

Granted this actually makes a certain amount of sense in the noncircumcised+diapers regime, and I'm just as happy it turned out to be that rather than the Testicular Strangulation Thing (i.e., the other possibility they have to check for when the main symptom is "freaks out when you run wipes over the boy stuff while changing the diaper"), but still...

... and I'm guessing this is about as much as you want to know.

My kid's foreskin doesn't retract yet. I don't know if that's a blessing or something weird. The doctor wanted to send him to a urologist but Fritz said "don't bother, they'll just yank on it and probably cause him to get circumcised anyway. Painfully."

TMI, I know. Anyway, he still doesn't have all his teeth, so why would his foreskin retract on time? This kid is such a late bloomer I'm beginning to wonder if my egg just grabbed the sperm, stripped the "Y" off it and spat the rest out. *snicker*

Well, it doesn't retract very far... Actually, I'm not even sure how far it is supposed to retract, never having met one before. But it does slide around enough that we have some ability to smear goop underneath as well as outside (and the infection is mainly inside, everything looks a-ok on the outside).

One of his classmates' older brother had to be circumcised at age three, so I'm hoping we're not heading there. This is bad enough, he's being insanely protective of his bits.

Interesting. Conor's very proud of his bits, which might explain why he likes to remove his britches so much. Of course, he'd probably be equally protective if they HURT like that.

Foreskin not retracting is perfectly normal. Some foreskin doesn't begin retracting until well into the onset of puberty, and not really until then is it ever a concern, I think.

Thank you. I'll just have to make sure the pediatrician ignores it, then. Should be pretty easy, she's got other things to worry about right now.
